Insulin prices are expensive which makes it challenging for the patient to get the help that they need. Low-income families already struggle enough financially and it is unfair to have them pay an extremely high price for something that they did not have a decision on. Diabetics and their families are struggling to figure out where or how they are going to get their next $200+ vial of ten milliliters of insulin. Decreasing the pricing on the small vials of insulin will allow these families to live through this disease easier and more efficiently.
In Illinois, families are struggling financially, and adding a high cost of insulin adds more and more trouble to what they are already dealing with. Lowering the price of insulin to a price that is reasonable for these families and other families who are in need of insulin, allows less worrying about when or where they are going to get their next vial or if they are going to have to ration the vial to make it worth the money that they have to pay. This problem has to be solved because families and diabetics can not continue living like this.
